Central Scheduler - FT

Laredo Medical Center is looking for a Central Scheduler who will be reporting to the Director of Admissions.
The Central Scheduler is responsible for maintaining exceptional customer service standards to secure clinical and financial information.
The Central Scheduler accurately and efficiently schedules, pre-registers, verifies insurance information and pre-certifies patients for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Provides patients with necessary instructions at the time the appointment is given.
Makes courtesy calls on day prior to procedure and reminds patients of deductibles and co-payments if applicable.
Essential Duties Include: * Scheduling of diagnostic procedures * Registration * Verification of insurance benefits * Authorizations * Collections * Schedules radiology, cardiology, pulmonology, and interventional procedures * Utilizes patient accounting system to complete the scheduling process * Contacts insurance companies for benefits and authorizations * Verifies medical necessity for procedures against the perspective insurance payer * Contacts patients to inform of financial responsibility and financial arrangements * Performs other tasks as needed Job Requirement Include: Required: High School Diploma or equivalent Required: Insurance knowledge and collection experience required Required: Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Preferred: Knowledge in computer applications processes.
