DESCRIPTION: Provides the overall administrative management of the daily dental clinic operations at all clinic sites.
She/he will be responsible for the direct supervision, evaluation, and training of the dental assistants.
SUPERVISION: Directly supervised by the Chief of Clinical Services.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling and filing on a regular basis.
May require moving up to 25 pounds.
Requires the use of office equipment such as; computer, telephone, calculator and copier.
DUTIES FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *Assures that all new employees are given an updated, specific job description and that the same are discussed in a timely manner.
*Assures that all new employees attend required orientation and/or training session(s) either onsite or at the Central Clinic.
*Assures that all new employees are oriented to the Clinic and to the department to which they are assigned.
*Assures that monthly work schedules are prepared appropriately.
*Assures patient services are delivered in a professional and confidential manner.
*Works with Chief Dental Officer and support staff to assure services, personnel and clinic activities operate efficiently.
*Works with each area of the dental clinic to evaluate clinic flow and/or program operational efficiency.
*Assures that adequate number of patients is assigned to each provider.
*Assists staff in obtaining community assistance/referral for clinic's patients.
*Assures dental tracking of in-house and interagency referrals.
*Supervises the coordination of all inter-departmental services and assures policy and procedure adherence (e.
g.
, billing & registration, medical records).
*Assures that all departments maintains updated manuals/program and protocols.
*Serves on the Center's Compliance/Performance Improvement/Risk Management (CPI/RM), and Safety/Infection Control Committees.
*Prepares and submits required reports.
*Addresses patient complaints in a professional, courteous and timely manner and reports findings through incident reports to the Center's Chief Operating Officer, Chief of Clinical Services and/or the Chief Executive Officer.
*Must possess basic knowledge of compliance and HIPAA.
*Must be able to travel to all clinic sites.
*Organizes and schedules meetings with administrators and dental staff as necessary.
*Prepares reports and training materials as requested by administrators.
*Evaluates employees under his/her supervision.
*Assists in interviewing of vacant position under his/her supervision.
*Monitors daily attendance for all dental clinic staff for accuracy and assures that reports are forwarded to the fiscal office on predetermined dates.
*Assists staff with minor computer problems and reports problems to IT staff when necessary.
*Performs other duties as assigned.

*Ability to analyze and solve work problems, to make decisions and delegate authority.

*Ability to demonstrate ethical standards in the protection of patient rights, privacy, confidentiality and basic human rights.
QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: *Graduate from an accredited high school or GED program.
*Associates or Baccalaureate Degree in Business Administration or related field is preferred.
*Two years of college may be substituted with five years' experience, which includes supervisory experience in a dental/medical office.
*Registered in the state of Texas as Dental Assistant is preferred.
*Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
