Description
This position performs specialized duties related to the department’s property tax operations.
Examples of Duties
Prepares and processes annual statements for mailing.
Ensures annual and timely WCAD monthly changes to tax roll; reviews all changes individually to ensure that values and exemptions are correct.
Prepares and sends statements for WCAD changes to tax roll.
Prepares rollback taxes.
Prepares refund requests.
Prepares refund checks for Laredo Community College.
Trains employees in system upgrades and in processing tax roll changes.
Prepares delinquent tax statements.
Completes a variety of forms for taxpayers.
Processes property tax transactions.
Provides information to the public as requested.
Maintains accurate accounting of all cash and check transactions to properly balance cashbox.
Processes motor vehicle registration renewals.
Performs any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must have one to two years experience.
Must be able to type 30 wpm.
Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
Supplemental Information
Knowledge of the property tax code.
Knowledge of motor vehicle registration laws.
Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions.
Skill in the preparation of clear and precise reports.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Ability to communicate in English and Spanish.
